The growing environment of Agarwood:
Suitable for growth in the wet tropics of Southeastern Asia, the optimum growth temperature is 19-35℃.Acid solid is most appropriate(with PH6-7).

The formation of Agarwood:
Formation of Agarwood occurs in the trunk and roots of trees that have been infected by a parasitic ascomycetous mould, a dematiaceous (dark-walled) fungus. As a response, the tree produces a resin high in volatile organic compounds that aids in suppressing or retarding the fungal growth, a process called tylosis.

沉香的形成：沉香是瑞香科沉香属的树木受到伤害，为愈合伤口而分泌的油性物质和木质成分混合而成的固态凝聚物。主要形成于树的表皮处、枝干部或树根部。
沉香的形成原因：雷打电击、动物啃噬、微生物感染、虫蛀、自身真菌病变等自然因素致使沉香树受伤。
沉香的生长环境：适合生长于东南亚热带雨林地区，19-35度最佳生长温度。微酸性土壤最为合适，即PH值在6-7之间。
沉香的常见树种：莞香树、蜜香树、鹰木树。
沉香的基本功能：沉香是一味珍贵的药材，性温，进入脾、胃、肾有理气、納肾、平肝、壮阳的作用。主治心腹痛、呕吐、益脾、暖胃、补气、平哮喘、治小便闭塞、大肠虚闭、通经络和镇痛安神等作用。
沉香的分类：星洲系和惠安系。星洲系主要有：印尼、马来西亚、新加坡、马六甲等。惠安系主要有：越南、老挝、柬埔寨、缅甸、泰国、香港、两广、两南等。
沉香的气味：沉香有酸、甜、苦、辣、咸五味。不同类别的沉香其气味则不同。星洲系以辛（辣）、凉为主，爆发力强，气韵短。惠安系以甘甜为主，气韵长。越南沉香的气味最为齐全。
